Mr. Vere Nicoll joined Cornerstone in 1998 where he is responsible
for the overall strategy as well as the groups direct investments. He is also a founding partner and Managing Director of BV-Cornerstone Ventures, LP, a later stage venture capital fund started by Cornerstone. Mr. Vere Nicoll has been involved in the venture capital and private equity business for 24 years, both as an investor and a CEO of venture-backed and public companies.
Throughout the past 10 years, Mr. Vere Nicoll has structured all of the private investments made by Cornerstone. Additionally, he has served on over 10 portfolio company boards where he has nurtured each company's growth, negotiated most acquisitions and been instrumental in numerous sales and recapitalizations.
Mr. Vere Nicoll worked closely with the management of Summit Energy to negotiate a European acquisition and choose appropriate Investment Bankers to recap the company. Currently, he is the CEO of Magna Energy Services, LLC where he has orchestrated the acquisition of six companies and consolidated them into one entity.
Prior to joining Cornerstone, Mr. Vere Nicoll was President and CEO of Kryptonics, a leading manufacturer of sporting goods products from 1995 to 1998. From 1991 to 1995, Mr. Vere Nicoll was President and CEO of Soricon Corporation, a public company that manufactured document readers. From 1983 to 1991, Mr. Vere Nicoll was a founder and partner of the UK based Beaverbrook Group, a venture capital and private equity company that invested in healthcare companies in the United States and Europe.
Mr. Vere Nicoll has a degree from the European Business School in Paris.
